音乐文化交流招待会

San Diego Diplomacy Council 邀请您参加将在卡尔斯巴德音乐博物馆(Museum of Making Music) 举办的吴蛮的私人招待会和一场吴蛮和比尔·布拉德伯里的演奏音乐会。

作为 The Music of Strangers 的一部分 - 吴蛮与马友友一起巡回演出。 他/她们被丝绸之路的思想和传统交流激励了。

吴曼于1998年被授予哈佛大学 The Bunting Fellowship 奖学金,于2008年第一位获得美国艺术家奖学金的中国传统音乐家。她也是第一位在白宫表演的中国艺术家。

Cultural Diplomacy through Music
A Meet & Greet with Wu Man and followed by a concert showcasing Wu Man and Bill Bradbury at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad.

The reception, complete with appetizers and refreshments, will feature a Meet & Greet with Wu Man. Wu Man traveled with Yo-Yo Ma as part of The Music of Strangers - Yo-yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble inspired by the exchange of ideas and traditions along the historical Silk Road. She will share her experience as a music citizen diplomat.

The reception will take place at 5 pm and at 6 pm those in attendance will be given the opportunity to tour the museum before the show at 7pm.

50 tickets are currently available for $25 general seats and $35 for front seats.

Guests:
· Wu Man—a Chinese pipa player and composer, who is also the first Chinese artist to perform at the White House, was awarded The Bunting Fellowship at Harvard University in 1998, and she was also the first Chinese traditional musician to be awarded The United States Artist Fellowship in 2008.

· Bill Bradbury— an Emmy Award-winning composer. He received his doctoral degree in music composition from Cornell University where he studied with Karel Husa, Steven Stucky and Yehudi Wyner. Bradbury is currently Professor of Music and Music Technology in the Visual and Performing Arts Department at California State University, San Marcos.

San Diego Diplomacy Council is a non-profit organization that connects business, government, nonprofit and academic leaders with their counterparts from around the world. For more than 35 years, the Diplomacy Council has developed global relationships and expanded mutual understanding by arranging professional, education and cultural exchanges, in collaboration with community leaders, international agencies, and the U.S. Department of State.

Museum of Making Music explores the accomplishments and impact of the music products industry through exhibitions and programs, and directly connects visitors with live music and music making opportunities.
